A group of students who are involved in the project on the 12 of June visited the center of illusions in Palanga where they had a lecture and practical activities about healthy lifestyle and ecology in our closest environment.

They had the opportunity to check how human can change the environment and what consequences could be.

Erasmus+ team organized the Sports day at school on 6th of the June. All classes had to choose one type of the sport and make a competition. Most interesting activities were kayaking and basketball.

The event was held to promote healthy lifestyle and good manners.

We support healthy lifestyles!  On Sunday, May 27th, in the morning more than 20 of our students accepted the challenge and participated in the marathon (5km distance). Among the 6,600 other We Run Vilnius runners, the Silale Darius and Girenas ELS team stood out in yellow t-shirts, with shining energy and a great mood.

This is the first chapter of Essential Life Skills Guidebook which can help you understand importance of healthy nutrition, especially in lives of young people.

During puberty, the dietary requirements of adolescents are particularly high, because on the one hand there is an acceleration of growth and on the other hand an increase in their physical activity. Also, at this time the teen wants to move away from their family and shape a new, individual, independent personality. At the same time, the adolescent’s need to be admitted by his/her peers leads to whims in both dressing and eating habits. So teenagers miss out on meals, eat snacks, prefer fast-food restaurants, and begin to consume alcohol or smoke at younger ages. It is a commonly accepted fact that the harmful eating habits of adolescents, as well as the pressure they receive from the social and especially the family environment, render them vulnerable to eating and mental disorders such as obesity, depression, bulimia etc. Family information as well as school education can help significantly in the prevention of eating disorders, as well as the adoption of proper nutrition habits during childhood and adolescence.

Polish students and healthy nutrition!! After mobility in Greece Polish students tried to teach their schoolmates everything they’d learned in Volos. They tried to improve their peers’ diet and make it healthier. We had a lot of fun, this is what it looked like! 🙂 😉

For the students’ recruitment to the Erasums project our school has adopted  the following guidelines.

A bid has been published on the school website asking for students to have the undermentioned requirements:

  • Good English Language Level and school marks (EU. Certificates have been a priority for the selection criteria)
  • Overall positive marks in the school curriculum
  • Good IT Skills
  • Family income

Once the students have formalized the application to the project an extra oral interview has been carried out to test the students’ fluency.

A panel of English teachers of our school has been cooperating in the students’ recruitment.

Once the students have been selected a merit ranking list has been issued.
